Series: Pivot and Tack
Each work in Pivot incorporate one or more awkward circles nested in multi-layered, dream-like environments. Many of the paintings in the series have 30 or more thin layers, which give the works an uncommon sense of depth. Embedded color bands extend the dream imagery, invoking ideas that are essential to being human, such as tribal standards and DNA.
Tack, a series of 100 6" x 6" paper pieces, was completed in parallel with Pivot, and draws on the same underlying dream imagery. Pieces can be combined in groupings up to 20, and are sold with an acid-free mat and foam core backing, ready for framing.
